Biography
“Hi, I’m Rachel (Rae) – an enthusiastic and passionate supporter of business owners, as well as a fierce advocate for neuroinclusive interior design. With my 3d renders, space-planning expertise, construction drawings and social media strategies, I strive to create warm, safe and inviting spaces that accommodate the diverse cognitive needs of people from all backgrounds and ability levels. I get immense satisfaction out of utilizing my vast knowledge to support those with different needs and spreading awareness about the importance of neurodiversity in everyone’s lives.
When I’m not helping others, you can find me at home in Colorado’s stunning front range near Golden where together with my family we are raising a delightfully unusual collection of animals! We have one dog along with nine chickens, four ducks, two roosters and even three alpacas in our ever-growing menagerie – it’s definitely not your typical hobby farm but living here is an incredible journey!”
What made you decide to become a Designer Virtual Assistant?
I’ve always been passionate about interior design and helping others create beautiful spaces. As an interior design assistant, I have the opportunity to work alongside multiple talented professionals and contribute to the creation of inspiring environments. It would be a pleasure to connect and learn from each other’s experiences in the world of design.
What are your top 3 traits your clients love?
Overall, I try to bring my best self to every task I undertake. My clients can rely on me to be enthusiastic, reliable, and a creative problem-solver. I am committed to providing the best possible service to my clients, and these three traits are just the beginning of what I have to offer.
What is your X-factor a.k.a. the one thing that differentiates you from other VA’s?
As a virtual assistant to interior designers, my x-factor lies in my ability to consider not only the designer as my sole client but also everyone else involved in the project. From the designer’s client to any other stakeholders, I strive to create coherent communication that can be seamlessly shared among all parties. My goal is to enhance the project’s overall process and ensure satisfaction for everyone involved.
What is your signature style and/or the styles that you love working with?
I absolutely love exploring the wide range of design ideas and styles that interior designers bring to life! However, there’s just something about a stunning Scandinavian theme with a unique twist that I can’t resist. Combining the clean and functional concepts of Scandinavian design with other influences and decor creates a truly captivating space. And let me tell you, my latest infatuation is definitely Japandi!
What is your key strength as a virtual assistant?
As a virtual assistant, my key strength lies in my motivation to explore new opportunities, discover innovative solutions and constantly adapt to changing circumstances. I pride myself on my ability to shift gears quickly, making sure that whenever a new task or challenge arises, I am able to tackle it head-on with precision and success.
Give us a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes when you’re putting together project for a designer (i.e. your process).
“In order to put together a project for an interior designer, I start by understanding their objectives and design preferences through a comprehensive conversation. I assess notes from previous projects, if we have previously worked together, and determine the scope of the new project.
Once I have a clear understanding, I create an itemized checklist and break down tasks into manageable subtasks. I set a realistic timeline for each item on the checklist to stay focused on the bigger picture without losing sight of the details.
My process involves clear communication, detailed planning, and a collaborative approach. I pride myself on staying organized and on schedule, so the designer can focus on their creative vision while I handle the logistics.”

- I am a mother of three and wife of one.
- I broke both of my arms at the same time in 6th grade.
- I have over 35 pairs of unique prescription eyewear.
